Judge Pro Tem - Mason County District Court, Shelton, WA
Since 1998 Goodell continues to provide services as a Judge Pro Tem for the Mason County District Court, Judge Victoria Meadows.

Attorney - Houle & Goodell, Attorneys, PLLC., Belfair, WA
Beginning in 1994, Goodell has been involved in the general practice of law in downtown Belfair, managing a staff of up to seven employees, including associate attorneys. In 2007, Goodell entered into a partnership with his former associate, C. Robert Houle in the formation of a professional limited liability company, Houle & Goodell, Attorneys, PLLC. Goodell is now a managing member of the firm. Goodell's Belfair firm has always been involved in the general practice of law, providing services in criminal and civil litigation, including family law (divorce, custody, dependency, adoption), real estate law (ownership/boundary disputes, land use), homeowners associations, business law, personal injury, estate planning (Wills and Trusts), probate law, and misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony defense.

Beginning in 1997 through 2002, Goodell sat on the bench as the primary Judge Pro Tem in Shelton Municipal Court, for Judge Carrene M. Wood.

Between 1987 and 1994 Goodell worked as in-house counsel for a family business located in Tacoma, WA. The work primarily focused on the negotiation and management of new construction contracts for custom workboats and yachts.

Beginning in 1984 to 1987 Goodell worked as an associate attorney for Roy A.H. Rainey in Bremerton, WA. Goodell provided services as a public defender for the City of Bremerton as well as civil litigation matters

Community Involvement:

Board of Directors - Boys and Girls Club of South Sound, North Mason Branch.
Goodell was one of the founding members and a Director of the Boys and Girls Club located in Belfair, beginning in 1996. Goodell also provided countless hours of Pro Bono work as he assisted in creating and developing the first Boys and Girls Club in Mason County. Goodell is currently an honorary member of the Board of Directors.

Board of Directors/President - On Paddles' Wings, Belfair, WA
Goodell is the founding member and President of On Paddles' Wings (Paddle), located in Belfair, WA, 2003 to present. Paddle is a non-profit charitable organization, which provides an opportunity for North Mason high school seniors and juniors to be immersed in a seven-month program enabling them to build their own kayak while building a foundation for their future. A central focus of the program is the construction of a beautiful kayak that is handcrafted by the youth. At the end of the construction process, the youth plan a weeklong final trek to the San Juan Islands.

Board of Director/President - Marissa Ann Goodell Shining Star Scholarship, Belfair, WA
Goodell and his wife Barb are the founding members of a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for North Mason High School Seniors, beginning in 2005 to present. The scholarship was established in the name of his daughter, Marissa, who died in 2005, and focuses on the promotion of human rights. One of the purposes of the scholarship is to encourage North Mason High School graduates to pursue careers designed to help others. Another significant part of the scholarship program is to make local volunteer work associated with the promotion of human rights more visible. The scholarship awards an annual Shining Star Humanitarian Award in recognition of a group who is promoting humanitarian efforts in the community.

Trustee - North Mason Chamber of Commerce, Belfair, WA
Goodell is a Trustee of the North Mason Chamber of Commerce, January 2008 to present.

Administrative Council Chairperson - North Mason United Methodist Church, Belfair
Goodell currently serves as the Administrative Council Chairperson of the North Mason United Methodist Church, January, 2007, to present. This is a lay position within the church that heads the operating body of the local church.

Relief Work - Serve the Children, Monrovia, Liberia (Africa)
Serve the Children is a non-profit organization located in Gig Harbor, WA that runs two schools in Liberia. During the summer of 2007, Goodell went with his wife, Barb and 16 year old son, Quin, to Monrovia, Liberia, where the three provided relief work at two schools. His work involved the teaching of first aid and civics to students in the schools as well as teaching first aid to the adults in the local community. In addition, he has been successful in working with his wife, Barb, in obtaining local sponsors of nearly 30 of the Liberian school children.

Columnist - North Mason Life
Goodell currently writes a monthly column for the North Mason Life newspaper, where he explains common, but difficult to understand legal concepts.

Emcee - Community Events
Goodell has been the master of ceremonies for many community events over the years. In addition to the annual fund raising events for On Paddles' Wings and the Marissa Ann Goodell Shining Star Scholarship, he hosts the local Oktoberfest celebration, the Christmas Night of Wonder, and is renowned for his annual work as the Emcee for the early morning shift of the North Mason Relay for Life.
